What does it take to make money on the internet? You have probably come across all sorts of income claims about internet entrepreneur riches. Are they all true?
The good news is that it’s not rocket science. Anyone with determination and clearly defined goals will be able to replace their salary eventually through affiliate marketing. The bad news is, it is rarely achieved within the first three months from the date you started. There are a few factors to consider if you decide to do it all on your own:
- The initial market research and planning phase of your site takes time.
- Do you have enough knowledge about the subject? Creating content about a topic you already know is much easier. You’ll be able to publish more articles to your website in a given time frame. (More articles will drive more visitors from the search engines to your website through keyword focused content pages.)
- There is a learning curve if you are unfamiliar with creating blogs or websites.
- Time is always a factor especially if your start out part-time. I suggest you put goals in place for each week and arrange your schedule to allow enough time to build your online business.
- There’s a lot of information on the net. It’s easy to get information overflow. If you are following a program, stick to it until you have mastered everything in the program. Avoid jumping from the one program to the other. This only creates more confusion.
Will you be successful in your efforts to make money on the internet?
Yes. Persistence, determination and patience will come in handy. It took Mike Filsaime, an entrepreneur from US two years before he “got it”. I often listen to interviews with the “big names” like Russell Brunson, Yanik Silver, Mike Filsaime, etc. They all went through a learning curve of trial and errors. The good news is that the trial and errors get less. What did the famous Gary Player said? “The more I practice, the luckier I get”.
How long does it take to make money on the internet?
This depends completely on you. Each persons’ resources are different. Keep on keeping on. Although internet marketing is big overseas, it is still in its infancy shoes in South Africa. This is even more reason to start now and establish yourself in the SA market. It doesn’t mean you can’t compete with the international market. This depends on the niche you chose. Loans and insurance niches are country specific. (Yes, there are affiliate programs in those markets for SA citizens too! Offerforge and Trafficsynergy are reliable affiliate networks in South Africa to join if you want to take advantage of this.)
Doing everything by yourself to make money on the internet will take longer as opposed to a dedicated team or outsourcing some jobs. It is doable. Be realistic with your efforts. Stick to your goals and targets and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. There is no business like an internet business…
